**************************************************************************************************** Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this announcement **************************************************************************************************** 1st Conference of the Spanish Society of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine (CIABiomed 2025) Seville, Spain, October 23-24, 2025 https://2025.iabiomed.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR SPECIAL TRACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CIABiomed invites the research community to submit proposals for the organisation of special tracks. These sessions, which will run in parallel with the general sessions of the conference, aim to provide a focused space for the presentation and discussion of work in specific, emerging or interdisciplinary areas within the field of artificial intelligence applied to biomedicine. The special sessions should focus on topics that do not directly overlap with the general programme of the conference, but which provide added value through innovative approaches, complementary perspectives, lines of research in development or relevant methodological debates. Particular consideration will be given to proposals that promote collaboration between institutions, critical discussion and the projection of future challenges in the ethical, rigorous and responsible use of artificial intelligence in biomedical contexts. Once the proposal has been accepted, the Organising Committee of the conference will set up a specific information page for each special session on the official website of the CIABiomed 2025 conference. Organisers must provide a detailed description of the session, a list of topics of interest, the Call for Papers, submission information (which will use the same system and dates as the general call for papers), a list of organisers and the associated scientific committee, as well as any additional relevant information. The organisers of each special session will be responsible for managing the peer review process of the papers submitted to their session. This includes the selection of qualified reviewers, the supervision of the quality and punctuality of the evaluations and the proposal of decisions of acceptance or rejection. All decisions will be subject to the final approval of the Scientific Committee of the conference. Likewise, the organisers are expected to ensure compliance with ethical standards in the evaluation process and to avoid any possible conflict of interest. It is compulsory for at least one of the organisers of the special session to register for the conference, attend in person in Seville and act as chair of the session assigned to them in the programme. In addition, the organisers must actively promote their special session through institutional channels, social networks, professional contacts and scientific communities, with the aim of attracting a sufficient number of proposals. Please note that sessions that do not reach a minimum of four accepted papers may be cancelled or their contributions redistributed in the general sessions of the conference. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION GUIDELINES ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposal information should be submitted electronically using the following form: https://2025.iabiomed.org/form-special-tracks/ Each proposal should include: - Special session title. - Approximate estimate of the number of contributions expected in the special session (minimum 4 contributions). - Brief biography of the organiser(s) of the special session. - Draft "Call for papers" for the special session (dates must be the same as the main conference). - One or two appropriate journals or follow-up publications: it is possible for special sessions to organise a special issue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT DATES ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposals submission deadline: May 20, 2025 Notification of acceptance: May 23, 2025 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TYPE OF PAPERS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CIABiomed 2025 accepts four types of papers: - Regular papers: Limited to a range of 12-15 pages. - Short papers: Limited to a range of 6-11 pages. - Posters papers: Limited to a total of between 4-6 pages. For presentation purposes at the conference, authors should prepare the poster in portrait format. Accepted dimensions are 60 (width) x 80 (length). - Breakthroughs papers: Papers to give visibility to recent research and bring these advances closer to the scientific community. Breakthroughs papers may refer to work that has already been published, although the content of the document must be completely original. The contribution is limited to 2-4 pages. The duration of the oral presentation of this type of document will be shorter than the regular one. Regular and short papers accepted will be included with their own DOI in Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) from Springer. Poster papers accepted will also be published in Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) grouped under the same DOI. In order to encourage more developed contributions, authors are encouraged to expand their papers whenever possible, so that they can be considered as regular papers. The accepted breakthrough papers will be published in the society's own proceedings which will be available on the official IABiomed website. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORGANIZERS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurelio Lopez Fernandez, Universidad de Sevilla (Spain) Alejandro Rodriguez Gonzalez, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (Spain) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTACT ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- contacto@iabiomed.org
